National Injustice
The digital image titled "National Injustice" started with my background image of a police car photographed with a slow shutter speed to exaggerate motion. The figure is from another twilight image from the same day taken an hour earlier. The original figure had arms down at his sides in a walking motion. I then found an image I had taken of a mural painted with outstretched arms. I had to redraw the arms and hands and adjust for perspective to make the arms fit the figure. A compelling image that in many ways, regrettably we have all seen before. The conveyed motion suggests action, conflict and how sudden things can go wrong. It is important for us to peacefully protest against injustice; however it is equally important to follow through with our right to vote as a catalyst for change.
